At the Exploitation Office, we play an important role in developing and building the capital. We work on many of Sweden's most interesting and notable urban development projects. The Exploitation Office is one of the city's administrations and is under the Exploitation Committee. We are responsible for the development and management of the city's land, exploitation for housing and business areas, and the city's investments in streets and parks in exploitation projects.

We are now looking for you to work as an economist in our Economics Department at the Exploitation Office.

Here you will have the opportunity to work with and develop economic processes related to our core business as well as our internal specialist and support departments. In this role, you will work alongside units that contribute to our exciting urban development projects. You will perform qualified tasks related to budgeting, follow-up, accounting, closing, and system development.

Our Economics Department currently consists of 15 dedicated employees divided into two units: investment and operations. In this role, you will be part of a unit consisting of six people and work with our operational activities. The Economics Department plays a central role in our administration with assignments within budgeting, closing, forecasting, and accounting processes. In addition, the department is responsible for overall economic analysis, follow-up, and reporting, as well as principles and regulations within accounting and VAT.

Your role

In the role of economist with us, you will serve as an important link between the operations and the office's central Economics Department. You will work closely with some of our operational departments that include Land, Valuation and Legal, Urban Environment, as well as internal support departments such as Administrative Management, HR, and IT.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for financial follow-up to ensure accurate accounting and realistic forecasts. This is done in collaboration with the manager and employees in the respective department.

Together with your colleagues, you will be an important player in the work of developing our economic processes related to accounting. This is done based on applicable regulations, the city's application instructions, and in collaboration with the city's central accounting department. Furthermore, the role includes tasks related to the management and development of the economic system Agresso and the city's follow-up system Hypergene.

You will provide support and advice on financial matters and convey financial information in a pedagogical manner, which includes:

• analysis, follow-up, and financial reporting
• basis for operational planning and budget follow-up
• accounting issues
• system development
• other relevant financial administration.

As an economist with us, you will closely collaborate with other economists in the Economics Department as well as with the City Management Office, Stockholm's central administrative office. With us, you will have the opportunity to participate in financial governance and thus contribute to the development of economic processes both within the office and the city.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• a degree in economics from a university or college
• worked as an economist for at least five years
• very good knowledge of accounting
• very good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel
• interest in systems and good knowledge of Agresso
• good ability to communicate, both in writing and verbally in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

• working in Hypergene
• knowledge of applicable regulations regarding tangible fixed assets
• driving development and improvement projects.
